Junkyard Mecha Monster
The concept of this junkyard mecha monster project was inspired by the enticing sci-fi artworks of Simon Stålenhag. I was looking to challenge myself by creating a more complex hard-surface 3D modeling project and I had drawn up a sketch inspired by the Swedish artist's work a couple of months ago which became the basis of this project.
Modelled, rigged and animated in Maya, textured in Adobe Substance 3D Painter, rendering and post-processing in Unreal Engine. Niagara particle and fluids systems were utilised for particle and dust cloud VFX, Quixel Bridge Megascan assets were levereged for the environment and the fog texture was sourced from the Soul:City Epic Game content pack.
